Homemade Tomato Powder Recipe:

I like to try the simplest ingredient at home. So, this is how I prepare my homemade tomato powder that is an essential ingredient for our killer hogs rub.

Ingredients:

2 Lbs of Tomatoes

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1: Rinse the tomatoes finely under the running water and remove their stems with a sharp knife.

Step 2: Evenly slice the tomatoes for about ½ inches thick.

Step 3: Take out a baking sheet and place the tomatoes on the sheet keeping distance.

Step 4: Place the tomatoes in the oven and set the temperature to the lowest. You can also dehydrate the slices in other ways like drying under sunlight and so on.

Step 5: When one side is done, flip and do the same with other side.

Step 6: After drying completely, it’s time for grinding. Break the slices into small pieces.

Step 7: In a spice grinder, grind the tomato pieces. Grind until you get the powder form.

Step 8: Using a sieve, sift the tomatoe powder to make sure there is no larger bits.
