How to Make Salmon Croquettes with Fresh Salmon?

Making this recipe will be fun because of its trouble-free cooking method. Let’s explore how-

Step-1

Take a medium mixing bowl and take the mashed salmon. Add finely chopped green onions, beaten eggs, pepper, mustard, and salt. Keep mixing.

Step-2

If the mixture seems smooth, sprinkle the lemon juice and mix. Continue mixing until mixed well.

Step-3

Now take 15 oz of the mixture at a time and make round-shaped balls with the palms of your two hands. Flatten the balls and keep them on a tray separately. Ensure the balls aren’t sticking with one another. Keep the tray at room temperature and allow the patties to sit for 5 minutes.

Tip: Use parchment paper on the tray before placing the salmon patties. It will help them not to stick together.

Step-4

Now take the patti balls and coat them into your panko bread crumbs.

Step-5

This time you have to fry the patti balls in oil. So, take a frying pan and put olive oil. Heat the pan at 375° F. When the oil is warmed sufficiently, fry the balls for 10 minutes. Flip up after 5 minutes.

NB: If the balls are many, fry them in batches. Don’t give all the balls into the pan simultaneously. It will lead to the balls remaining undercooked inside, or they can be broken.

Step-6

When the patties are brown, low the heat and remove one ball from the pan. Break it and see whether the inside is finely cooked. If so, remove all the balls from the pan and place them on a plate covered with a paper towel. A paper towel will absorb the extra oil.

Step-7

Now place them on a wire rack.  Let the balls sit on the rack for 5 minutes to cool. Once the balls are cold, they are ready to serve.

Step-8

Serve with your favourite toppings and side dishes.
