All-Purpose Flour (1 Cup)

For this bread recipe, all-purpose flour is the ideal flour. It contains a lower protein content which leads it to get lighter bread. Also, it contains less gluten compared to regular bread flour. 

Applying all-purpose flour to your today’s bread recipe will make your bread airy and chewy. So, take 1 cup of all-purpose flour.

Baking Powder (1 ½ Tsp)

Adding baking powder of 1 ½ tsp will deliver excellent leavening with other ingredients. Baking powder will also make your bread fluffy. 

Baking Soda( ½ Tsp)

As same as baking powder, baking soda is also an ideal leavening agent. Aside from leavening, it also develops the pH level of the dough. As a result, it offers an extra thickness and tender baked experience. However, you need this ingredient in a little amount. So, take ½ tsp of baking soda. 

Cinnamon (1 Tsp)

You’ll need to take ½ cup of brown sugar for both a sweet taste and also to get a light brown color. 

Date & Walnuts (½ Cup Each)

Adding dry fruits to this bread recipe will increase the taste tremendously. So, we’ll take ½ cup of chopped date and ½ cup of chopped walnuts.  

Buttermilk (1 ½ Cups)

To dehydrate the wheat bran, you’ll need 1 ½ cups of buttermilk. It will help soften the wheat bran and get it into a nice form to make the bread. The reason why you add buttermilk instead of regular whole milk is its tangy taste. Adding buttermilk will make this fruity breakfast bread so flavorful and tasty.

Salt (½ Tsp)

Cooking Oil ( Cup)

How to Make All-Bran Quick Bread?

Even if you have no prior experience with any bread recipe, you can easily make this one. It’s simple and easy to make. Let’s begin- 

Step-1

Preheat or set your oven to 375° F.

Step-2

Take a large bowl because you have to add a big amount of ingredients. Now to start off, add your wheat bran to the bowl. Since it’s a dry ingredient, you have to dehydrate it in the first phase. So, add buttermilk to the wheat bran. Let them soak for 10 minutes. Keep the bowl aside for this soaking time. 

Step-3

Now take another small bowl and put flour, cinnamon, salt, dates, walnuts, baking powder, and baking soda. Now keep whisking them all together and mix well.

Step-4

Now take the bowl of bran and add cooking oil to it. Keep sitting and let them mix well. Now add egg and mix. When the mixture is smooth, add vanilla, brown sugar and keep mixing them all. However, you shouldn’t overmix the ingredients.

Step-5

Now add the dry batter you made in Step-3 with the bean mixture. Keep stirring until they are combined well. Overmixing will let the proteins in the flour activate which will make a denser gummy texture to your bread. So, don’t go for excessive mixing. 

Step-6

At this stage, take a lined bread pan and pour the mixture into it. Level the mixture nicely and bake for 30 minutes. After 3o minutes of baking time, check out whether the middle of the bread is baked. 

To check out it, you can use a toothpick. Just poke the toothpick into the bread’s middle and if it comes out clean, your bread is well-baked. If not, let it bake for 10 minutes more. 

Step-7

Your all-bran quick bread recipe is ready. Now transfer the bread to a flat shaped dish and let it cool for 20 minutes. After that, cut the bread pieces into your desired thickness and serve.

  • Let it cool for 20 minutes.
  • After that, cut the bread pieces into slices and serve.
