Butter (2 Tbsp)

Cooking this amazing recipe with oil will offer a regular taste. However, adding butter to it will surely double the taste of your chimes. So, take 2 tbsp of butter to make your white cheese sauce. 

All-Purpose Flour (1 Cup)

To make the sauce, flour comes into consideration. But you need a little amount of flour. For today’s recipe, you’ll need only 1 cup of flour. 

Milk (5 Cups)

You need milk also to make the sauce. Milk is the key ingredient to make the cheese sauce. You need 5 cups of milk. It will bring a creamy taste and flavor to teh sauce. 

Cooking Sherry (⅓ Cup)

Cooking sherry is a kind of wine. It’s applied to the recipe to impart a sweet and nutty taste to Chi Chi’s chimichanga. So, we’ll add ⅓ cup of cooking sherry. This element is also to make the sauce. 

White Pepper Powder (1 Tsp)

Mozzarella Cheese (1 Cup)

Flour Tortillas (4)

We’ll make the dish for 4 servings. So, you need to take 4 flour tortillas. If your serving size becomes bigger, increase teh number of tortillas.

How to Make Chi Chi’s Seafood Chimichanga?

The cooking method of crab chimichanga is as easy as cooking regular shrimp or crab dishes. Let’s check out the details-

Step-1

You have to make the white cheese sauce in the first phase. Put your skillet on the stove at medium-low heat. Now put butter and let it melt. After that add flour to the butter and continue whisking for 5 minutes.

Step-2

Once the flour and butter are mixed well and appear golden in color, add milk to the mixture. Keep stirring and keep the heat medium-low. Add cooking sherry, and white pepper powder with the milk. Now bring the mixture to a boil. Keep cooking for 10 minutes. But don’t stop stirring. Or, the milk will fluff off the pan.  

Step-3

This time turn off the heat and add shredded mozzarella cheese. Keep whisking and the milk will become thick and sticky. This sticky texture will make the dish more spongy. Keep the pan aside. 

Step-4

This time, take the bowl of cooked shrimp and mix them with the flaky crabs, and ¾  cup of cheese sauce. Now mix them well and ensure the crabs and shrimp are fully covered with the cheese sauce. If they aren’t covered with cheese properly, add 1 cup more. 

Step 5

You’re almost in the final stage. Take the tortillas and fill them with the shrimp and crab mixture. Make the rolls and place them into the baking pan. 

Step-6

Now spread the remaining cheese sauce over the rolled tortillas kept in the baking pan. After that, sprinkle some mozzarella cheese over. Now bake the pan at 425° F for 15 minutes. 

Step-7

Get the baking pan out of the oven and sprinkle some paprika over the baked tortillas. It will make the dish spicy and also will give it a colorful look.

Step-8

Your dish is ready. Now serve them in serving dishes.
