Know About the Oven-tight Stuffed French Toast Recipe Ingredients

Firstly, you don’t have to use every ingredient we used exactly for the recipe. This Over-the-top stuffed French Toast recipe can be customized in several ways, and depending on your mood and time, you can make it more rich or simple. So here we are, including my favorite French toast recipe with cream cheese.

Ingredients

Bread: For making French toast, you’ll first need bread. And here we suggest going for French bread. Choose from among the loaves of brioche or challah bread. ½ inch slices to 1-inch thickness of 4 bread pieces are used here.

Butter: 1 tablespoon of the butter is used on top of the overnight stuffed French toast before you put it in the oven for baking.

Flour: The flour, sugar, and butter mix are spread on top of the French toast. ¼ cup of it helps with the crust.

Sugar: We suggest using three types of sugar. Brown sugar, white sugar, and powdered sugar. Add sugar to the custard, the strawberries, and the cream cheese. But don’t use it too much, or the mix will be too sweet.

For Filling

Cream Cheese: The cream cheese here is used for the filling. The cream cheese gives a soft and creamy texture, and thus, when spread between the bread, it tastes best.

Strawberry/Blueberry: In this recipe, we use fresh strawberries. 1 cup of strawberry or blueberry can be used. Wash them well, and then cut them into thin slices. Coat the berries in sugar to make their texture soft.

Sour Cream: ¼ cup of sour cream is added to the filling. This will cut down on the density of the cream cheese and make the recipe lighter.

Vanilla Extract: Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the cream cheese mix.

For Custard

Eggs: Go with 3 eggs for this recipe. With the increased amount of bread, add more if needed. Use room-temperature eggs.

Milk: Here, we used whole milk. You can use any kind of milk you want. 1½ cups of milk are used to make the custard.

Cinnamon: I like the hint of spice for the overnight or 12-hour French toast. And 1 teaspoon of cinnamon will do the trick.

Nutmeg: If you want more spice in the recipe, then add 1 teaspoon of nutmeg. But this is optional.

Vanilla Extract: Use one teaspoon of vanilla extract on the custard to balance the flavors.

Method Of Preparing the Overnight Stuffed French Toast Recipe

The overnight stuffed French toast recipe comes in three different layers. First, you have to prepare the bread with filling and custard. Then you put it in the freezer for 12 hours. And then, put it in the oven to bake. Here we are including a step-by-step path for making the stuffed French toast.

Step 1

Start by cutting the French bread loaf into thick pieces. Make sure that the bread is somewhat equal. I like the crust on the sides.

Step 2

Make the filling for the French toast with some cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream.

Step 3

Mix them all in the bowl with a hand mixer. Make sure the texture is creamy and spreadable on the bread.

Step 4

Prepare the strawberries by cutting them thinly and coating them with sugar. This will make the strawberries softer and juicier.

Step 5

Spread the cream cheese mix on the bread, and then place the strawberries on top of the cream cheese. Make sandwiches by putting a cream cheese piece on top.

Step 6

Make a custard by adding eggs, milk, and vanilla.

Step 7

Spread the custard mix on top of the toasted bread. Take a flat pan to do the work. Make sure that the custard fills all of the bread.

Step 8

Cover the pan with a lid, and then put the stuffed bread in the freezer for 12 hours.

Step 9

Take out the toast in the morning.

Step 10

Mix sugar, butter, and flour in a bowl and spread them over the bread.

Step 11

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and then bake the stuffed French toast for 30 minutes or until you see a brown crust on top.

Step 12

Serve immediately with maple syrup on top, drizzled with some powdered sugar.

How To Make French Toast with Cinnamon Bread?

To make cinnamon bread French toast, the only additional thing would be the cinnamon powder. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the custard of the stuffed French toast. And there you have it: French toast with cinnamon bread. Increase the amount of cinnamon if you like more spices.
