Instructions
Saute onion and garlic with oil at medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
Add red chili powder, bay leaves, sugar, and salt. Continue stirring for 5 minutes at medium-low heat.
Add the ground beef this time and cook for 15 minutes at medium-low heat.
Now add the beef broth and boil it for 20 minutes.
Add tomato sauce and masa harina. Continue stirring to mix them all. Keep the heat low and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Your dish is ready.
Remove the bay leaves and serve them on chili dogs.
Tips
Top with tomato sauce because it will make the chili bowl tastier.
You can substitute the beef with turkey, chicken, or pork.
Pan-frying a chili bowl is the best than boiling one.
Adding traditional mustard, relish, or ketchup can enhance the taste. Add them as toppings.
