Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°
Boil potatoes in a saucepan at medium-high heat for 20 minutes.
Warm butter and half-and-half in your microwave-safe container for 35 seconds.
Now drain potato water and mash them.
Place the mashed potatoes into the saucepan and add salt, pepper, butter, and half-and-half. Continue mixing.
Stir the egg yolk and mix properly. Cook at medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
Now, put another pan on the stove at medium-high heat. Oil the pan and add carrots, onions, and garlic. Saute for 5 minutes.
Add ground lamb, black pepper, and kosher salt. Mix and cook for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over the brown meat and stir for 1 minute.
This time, add chicken broth, thyme, rosemary, tomato paste, and Worcestershire. Mix them well.
Bring it to a boil for 12 minutes at medium-low heat.
Now, take a baking pan and transfer the lamb mixture.
Top peas and corn with mashed potatoes over the meat now.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Now remove the baking dish and place it on a cooling rack.
Let it cool for 20 minutes.
Your dish is ready.
Tips
Add the accurate amount of flour and stir properly. Or the mixture will be sloppy.
Adding 1 tbsp of lemon will give a tangy taste to your recipe.
If your dish becomes excessively dry, add a tbsp of water and stir right before serving.
Arrowroot, tapioca, or cornstarch are the best thickener to make pie recipes thicker.
